King Faisal president Karim Gruzah has launched a blistering attack on the Black Stars players, labeling them as sycophants and liars for failing to expose the crass incompetence of coach Kwesi Appiah.
The tough-talking King Faisal president claimed in an astonish manner on Accra-based Happy FM that the players are not oblivious of the technical and tactical ineptitude of the Black Stars trainer but have failed to take up the issue with the appropriate authorities.
Kwesi Appiah is under heightened to pressure to quit following the Black Stars poor start in the 2015 African Cup of Nations after drawing 1-1 with Uganda in Kumasi last Saturday.
The result comes on the heels of the country’s disastrous outing at the World Cup in Brazil which has sparked calls for his immediate dismissal.
Alhaji Karim Gruzah has blamed the players for the current turn of event, sarcastically claiming they should take responsibility for the team’s poor showing not the coach.
“Most of the players are liars. They know the coach is not competent enough and yet they have kept quiet,” he said
“I will say it again without an apology that they are sycophants and liars. When you meet them they say different things.
“We all love Kwesi Appiah but he cannot do the job and I have said that times without number.
“They (players) should also take the blame. Why can’t they inform authorities the coach is not the right man for the job? he quizzed.
Kwesi Appiah is adamant to quit despite the incessant pressure insisting he has not considered leaving the post.
He will take charge of the Africans ahead of Wednesday must-win game against Togo in Lome.
