Agya Koo Nimo to Thank Mahama for Cultural Honor
Renowned Ghanaian highlife icon Agya Koo Nimo has expressed his heartfelt desire to meet President John Dramani Mahama, celebrating Ghana’s rich cultural heritage. During the Black Star Experience launch on May 1, 2025, Mahama recognized Agya Koo Nimo’s legacy and instructed Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts Minister Abla Dzifa Gomashie to organize a tribute ceremony, reflecting the nation’s commitment to preserving its musical traditions.
In an interview with Kafui Dey, Agya Koo Nimo shared his gratitude, saying, “Please let the President know we deeply value his nod to Koo Nimo,” and hopes to one day meet Mahama, noting, “Meeting great souls is a rare privilege; it would resonate worldwide.” He also fondly recalled past performances in Cape Coast, invited by Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, and expressed delight at the prospect of shaking Mahama’s hand to enrich Ghana’s cultural narrative, aligning with Royal TV’s mission to uplift this legacy.
