Sammy Gyamfi: "EC plotting to rig 2024 elections for NPP with Ghana Card demand." Featured
08 August 2022
Sammy Gyamfi, the NDC's national communications officer, claims that the Electoral Commission (EC) intends to rig the 2024 elections in favor of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Speaking on GHOneTV, Mr. Gyamfi advised everyone desiring change and fed up with the current administration's "economic mismanagement" to obtain a Ghana card in order to register to vote.
He claimed that the Electoral Commission, which is led by Jeane Mensah and Bossma Asare, "has adopted these illogical views and they seek to manipulate the 2024 elections in their favor."
They are restricting access to the roll because they are aware that Ghanaians are unhappy with them and that if they allow more people access, they run the risk of losing the 2024 elections, he stated.
The National Communication Officer added, "They have registered a lot more in their strongholds and they are purposefully refusing to allocate the necessary logistics NDC strongholds like the Volta region to allow the people to register.
Therefore, they want to steal the election, just as they did in the 2020 election. You must therefore make sure that you obtain your Ghana card. I am aware that many individuals are struggling, and some are even having to pay bribes to NIA agents.
Mr. Gyamfi urged Ghanaians to make the sacrifice of standing in line for their Ghana cards in order to oust the NPP government.
The only sacrifice you must make as part of our group's efforts and plan to expel these nation-wreckers is this one. Therefore, if you are having trouble registering or if you have registered but are having trouble getting your card, don't give up.
"Follow up and make sure you have your card so that you can avoid the increasing amount of paperwork and strain in the upcoming months. The stubborn, aggressive Akufo-Addo-sponsored EC continues to maintain its absurd stance of making the Ghana card the only acceptable form of identity for registration.
